NOVEMBER COMMUNITY EVENT
KINGLEY VALE HIKE

Join us for a rejuvenating 9km (approx 2hr) hike around the unique landscapes of Kingley Vale, where ancient yew trees whisper stories of centuries past and the iconic Devil’s Humps offer stunning views of the surrounding countryside. This enchanting area, steeped in history and natural beauty, provides the perfect backdrop for connecting with nature and meeting new friends. The main spectacular ancient yew trees are thought to be around 2000 years old!
After our invigorating walk, we’ll enjoy homemade soup & sourdough bread, sharing warmth and conversation as we embrace the changing seasons together. Whether you’re a regular hiker or just looking for a chance to enjoy the scenery & fresh air, everyone is warmly welcomed to join our friendly community for this enjoyable outing!
LOCATION
Kingley Vale, West Sussex, is a stunning area in the South Downs National Park, famous for its ancient yew trees, some of the oldest in Europe. We’ll explore winding woodland trails through this historic landscape, including the remarkable Devil’s Humps, Bronze Age burial mounds that offer breathtaking views of the South Downs. It’s a place rich in biodiversity & full of natural beauty and fascinating history, perfect for a day of exploration and connection with nature.
MEETING PLACE & PARKING

• Please bring a water bottle & optional snacks for the hike.
• Please wear warm clothes, good walking footwear & bring waterproofs.
• Please note, there are some steep ups & downs on this hike.
• Option to join us for a drink at The Hare & Hounds pub afterwards.
